Remnants of SXSW

A couple shots from my first visit to The Lone Star State from two weeks ago! It was really nice to have a break from New York/the east coast…especially since the state of Texas is pretty much the opposite. (Or at least it seemed that way to me!)

East Austin reminded me of Brooklyn a lot– we ended up there for some free shows coincidentally on a very crowded last day of SXSW. There was so much going on!

Oh yes, it is very opposite. I grew up in Saugerties, NY (just next to Woodstock) and eventually ended up here in Austin, Texas. If I read right in your about page, you are also vegan and Austin is (which surprised us) one of the most vegan friendly places in the U.S.

I’m glad I wasn’t mistaken in my comparison of TX to NY :) I didn’t get to spend nearly as much time as I wanted to in Austin, but we did get to eat a lot of yummy vegan food. I was blown away by all of the options! Whenever i’m traveling it usually for the most part ends up being a food tour, which i’m more than okay with. Seemed like an all around awesome place to live.

Oh my gosh, yes! There is so much vegan food here. Austin has been on a lot of lists for most vegan friendly. I plan to do a post of my top 5 favorite vegan eats around here. You wouldn’t think anywhere in Texas would be vegan friendly.
